Garfield’s newest addition, Fish Nor Fowl, is making its mark on the Pittsburgh restaurant scene. The newest hotspot is part of the Richard DeShantz restaurant group (think Butcher & The Rye, Meat & Potatoes, Tako, Poulet Bleu, etc.), so you know you’ll be in for a treat during your first or next visit. Executive Chef, Dan Carlton, describes the establishment as “an American restaurant that celebrates an evolved perspective on thoughtful usage of ingredients. Utilizing flavors and techniques from around the globe, we work to create an identity that can neither be defined nor classified.”
Located on Penn Avenue, Fish Nor Fowl’s small menu features big flavor with a total of five small plates, six large plates, and five garden plates in total. Also known for their creative cocktails, this local hotspot makes an excellent spot for an intimate date night, or a catch up with friends. I would also be amiss not to mention the decor. Featuring a wall full of living plants, high ceilings, long tables, and a stylish bar, the restaurant strikes a perfect combination of modern, cozy, and trendy. If I may make one suggestion be sure to order the Blue Algae cocktail on your next visit, it doesn’t disappoint!
